Student Spotlight: Christian Wade

We’re proud to have a community of young entrepreneurs that keep in touch with us even after they’ve moved on from the curriculum and become YEScarolina alums. We love catching up with them to see how their businesses are going, and how their experience with the entrepreneurship program continues to affect¬†their lives. Today, we’re kicking off a Student Spotlight series right here on our blog to share their successes with you.

Meet Christian!

What was your first impression of YEScarolina?

“This is what I want to do in my future, so this is a great way to sharpen my skills and broaden my networking communication.”

What does entrepreneurship mean to you?

“Entrepreneurship is a huge puzzle and everyone isn’t cut out to solve the puzzle. There will be good days, bad days, and days where you just want to quit, but we are so mentally strong that we know we cannot and will not give up on our dream!”

What’s a typical day working on your business like?

“Marketing! And talking to teachers and potential clients, asking them if they need more honey or dry rub.”

What did you learn about yourself through starting a business?

“I cannot and will not give up on my dreams. The fire that is inside of me can’t be put out!”

How do you plan to give back to your community through your business?

“I’d like to give back to my community by opening a trade school to help people start their own businesses.”

What’s next for you?

“In 5 years, ¬†I will be graduating college, and my dry rub will be in steakhouses around the country. My honey will be in every Walmart in the South!”
