My Sincerest Gratitude

Molly & MS2

Dear YEScarolina friends,

Throughout my four and a half years at YEScarolina, I have seen dreams come true. I have witnessed young individuals blossom into confident entrepreneurs. I’ve seen teachers grow to be more confident professionals in their classrooms. I have seen people touched by the mission of YEScarolina and the dedication to impact the community.

When I moved to South Carolina, I was a young 18-year-old girl entering a community that was so new, undiscovered, and scary. I knew no one, but was excited to start a new chapter in my life. Everything changed when I had the opportunity to participate in Tommy Baker’s Seminar for Entrepreneurship class at the College of Charleston. In this class, I was introduced to several successful entrepreneurs and business owners, one being Jimmy Bailey. Jimmy brought Zoe Damacela, of Chicago, to share her story of how entrepreneurship and the NFTE course carried her out of poverty and into a life of passion & success. After hearing how drastically one class changed her life, I knew right then and there, I wanted to be involved in YEScarolina somehow.

In joining the team at YEScarolina, I not only gained a community, but life long friends, colleagues, mentors, and mentees. It is all of you who have helped me become the woman I am today. I am so grateful for the advice, guidance, inspiration, respect, encouragement, and support I have received from all of you.

As Jimmy has always said, “People can achieve great success given the tools and the chance.” Thanks to you, I am confident the lessons I have learned, the relationships I have built, and the skills I have obtained at YEScarolina have given me what I need to take my life to new heights.

As of June 30th, 2017 I will no longer be an employee at YEScarolina, however I will never stop being an advocate for all you do for our youth and the South Carolina community. It has been an honor to work with you, get to know you, and grow with you for the past four years.

Although it is bittersweet to say goodbye, I am excited to see all of the great things to come for YEScarolina and all of you in the future.
