Local highschool students to represent South Carolina in NFTE national competition

Adam Zerbst, 17 year old James Island Charter High School senior will compete against 35 of the brightest young business people across the country for a chance to win $25,000 in cash and prizes to help advance his business and education.
Zerbst and school mate Nick Sisk of Blackstacksgear.com will represent the State of South Carolina in a National Business Plan Competition in New York City organized by YEScarolina‘s partner NFTE Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship.
Zerbst, who has cerebral palsy, is the founder of Adam’s All Natural, a healthy snack food company. He created the snack because healthy eating not only changed his life, but inspired the development of his company.
This past summer Zerbst placed 2nd and Sisk took 1st place in the Mark Motley Foundation Statewide Business Plan competition organized by YEScarolina. YEScarolina, a 501c3 organization is dedicated to teaching youth the principles of entrepreneurship and free enterprise. YEScarolina has trained and certified over 550 South Carolina teachers on the subject of entrepreneurship, who have in turn, touched the lives of thousands of youth.
Zerbst and Sisk will be honored along wth 7 other top students from across the state, at YEScarolina’s Gala and Fundraiser on November 1st.
