Ebay Queen takes Top Honors at the Motley Rice Charleston County Business Plan Competition

Yesterdays Inaugural Business Plan competition was a huge success.  We are so grateful for the judges who donated their time and expertise, the students, teachers and families for their hard work, to the College of Charleston for hosting us and to Motley Rice for sponsoring the competition and serving as final judges.

The students all did so well and we are so very proud of every single one of them.

And now what you have all been waiting for.  The final 4 winners!

“Buy, Sell, Trade, Make Money,” is the Ebay Queen, Erin Willis’ tag line and that’s exactly what she did when her business plan won first place and she earned $1000 seed money for Ebay Queen.  Erin is a student at Wando High School

Nick Sisks, Wando High, presented BlackStacksGear.com and took home $500 and 2nd place for his diesel apparel company made for diesel enthusiasts by diesel enthusiasts.

Judges were torn for 3rd place, so they settled on a tie between Evan Howard from James Island High School with his Oyster Mitt invention and Austin Nuttall Wando with Smoochies.  Evan and Austin both took home $250 seed money for their businesses.

Although Chivias Thompson of West Ashley High School was ineligible to participate in the competition, his determination and resilience helped him the YEScarolina Spirit Award.
