One of our amazing entrepreneur students from West Ashley High School, Marcus Williams, recently published a book with the goal of educating elementary students about bullying. Marcus is determined to make a difference and put an end to this dangerous form of harassment. Marcus teamed up with Elizabeth Pendergast, an autistic classmate also passionate about ending bullying, for the illustrations. Here’s what folks are saying about the book:
“More and more, bullying is becoming a growing concern in communities across the country. The Stop Bullying Club is an excellent resource addressing this issue and teaching children that bullying should not be tolerated. Both educators and parents would benefit from sharing this book with their children.”
Mayor Joe Riley, Charleston, SC
“One of the on-going challenges in our efforts to maintain safe schools is to stamp out bullying. Marcus Williams, a high school student, uses his age as a rare advantage to appeal to our youth on their level educating them on anti-bullying. Marcus is a great example of a student who works to create a better community.”
Dr. Nancy J. McGinley, Superintendent Charleston County School District
